Amidst all the climate and environmental anxiety it is nice to have a glimpse of a real winter in New York City. As a kid we had winters like this pretty often. All winter long an ad for Florida showed on our 5 channels of broadcast television with no internet to distract us. “When you need it bad, we got it good” that Sunshine State commercial sang to us over images of piles and piles of snow and New Yorkers being blown asunder by blasting blizzard winds.
Well, I’d say we needed this winter, bad, and it’s enjoyable in its own way.
