If you look at my profile you'll see I post quite a few complete stories on Medium that are fully available to subscribers. Often my readers ask me to alert them when I have published work outside of Medium. When I get paid for a story by a newspaper or magazine (in this case, The New York Times) copyright restrictions prevent me from posting the article and all I can do is point readers to the article in question. Some people on Medium have other careers -- me, I'm a full time writer and I have to play by the rules.
